Protest In Demand For Permanent Flood Mitigation Moves By VPI

GUWAHATI: The ongoing protest of Voters Party International, VPI to declare the problem of flood a national problem, continued on third day at VIP road, Guwahati. The workers of VPI assembled from whole state demonstrating for permanent solution of the flood. The protesters are pasting allegations of step treatment on centre with Assam state. Speakers addressing the gathering pointed out that the centre has much fund for the bullet train project but they are pretending the scarcity of the same to solve permanently, the problem of flood in Assam. Mostly workers of district Udalguri were participated on 3rd day of protest.

The state president of the party Lalit Pegu observed that the problem of flood is not only problem of the VPI workers but it pertains with all. He appealed the other political parties and social organizations to form a common forum based on a written constitution to struggle long battle on this common agenda.

Amina Sherwani the representative of Central committee of the party explained the nature of common forum to be formed. She said that only forum based on written constitution, can be able to knit the various organizations on permanent basis. She said that we have already evolved a written constitution of organizations, wherein many political parties, social organizations, media institutions and companies can work collectively.
