GUWAHATI: As per the district elementary education officer, to ensure that the health of the children is not adversely affected by the heat, the local administration has decided to change the class timings of schools in the Kamrup (M) district. The order was passed on Wednesday and comes into effect on Thursday. "In the interest of public wellbeing, the normal school timing is again rescheduled due to the continuous rise of the mercury level and the prevailing scorching heat for both government-provincialized and private schools under Kamrup Metro district w.e.f. Thursday, 3rd Aug '2023," said the order issued by the district-level officials of the education department.
As per the order, the new timings for the schools are as follows: Lower Primary Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:00 p.m., Middle English Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 p.m., and High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools: 7:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Also, schools have been instructed to conduct the morning assembly inside the classroom or in a shaded area. This order comes into effect on August 3 and will remain in force until August 15.
