GUWAHATI: A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between State Innovation & Transformation Aayog (SITA) and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) at the Janata Bhawan here on Monday.
The pact pertains to a project entitled 'Annotated Atlas of the Heritage sites of Assam: Using GIS', and was signed by CEO MS Manivannan on behalf of SITA and the Head of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of IIT-G, Sukanya Sharma in the presence of Vice Chairman of SITA, Ramen Deka.
IIT-G, along with its partner Heritage Conservation Society of Assam, will be working to prepare an annotated atlas of the heritage sites of Assam to make visual presentation of the cultural profile of Assam and digitized maps will be produced which will be interactive, and by using QR codes this data can be uploaded in the public domain.
