GUWAHATI: The State's Agriculture Department will launch a week-long Kisan Credit Card (KCC) saturation drive under the Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Harnari campaign from April 24 to May 1.

The drive is aimed at enabling all farmers of the State to avail benefits of the ongoing schemes, especially the KCC scheme.

The campaign will be conducted by the banks concerned in coordination with the district administrations, line departments, NABARD and local self-government functionaries to mobilize potential KCC beneficiaries and sanctioning of KCC by banks/financial institutions through their network of BCs, Bank Sakhis, agents, etc. The drive further aims to mobilize potential farmers through special Gram Sabhas on April 24, especially to saturate PM KISAN beneficiaries with KCC. Further, it is targeted to enrol the maximum number of farmers/PM KISAN beneficiaries under all types of KCC schemes for crop cultivation, animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries.

Last but not the least, the drive is aimed at covering all eligible farmers under the various social security schemes (PMSBY/PMJJBY/APY) of the PMJDY programme.
