GUWAHATI: The Hengrabari area in the city witness heavy traffic congestion nowadays, after the Kamrup (metro) Deputy Commissioner's office was temporarily shifted to the area. People park their vehicles haphazardly even though the traffic police department has put up 'No parking' signboards along the roadside outside the office premises. "Earlier, it took five to six minutes to reach Ganeshguri from the DC office's location. Now, it takes about 15-20 minutes. The administration should have ensured sufficient parking space before shifting such an important office as the DC's office to this area," said local residents.
