GUWAHATI: A major accident was averted on the Noonmati Railway line on Sunday.
As per sources, huge cracks had developed on the railway tracks that head from the highway towards the Guwahati Refinery. Fortunately, the driver of a train saw the cracks just before the train arrived at the location. The train was immediately halted, and the driver contacted the authorities concerned. The train was halted at the spot for over an hour. Due to this, vehicles travelling in the direction of Chandmari and Narengi were also halted, causing great traffic congestion on the road.
