GUWAHATI: "Release of every new book by a first-time writer not only adds to the number of authors, but also creates a new set of readers," said noted writer and filmmaker Utpal Datta here today.
Releasing a novel called "Adventures in Revati Valley" written by Vaishali Kashyap at a function here today, Datta congratulated the debutante author and called upon the younger generation to take to writing down their experiences. "Creative writing is one of the best expressions of one's ideas and experiences. Moreover, sharing one's ideas through fact-based fiction spreads a positive vibe," Datta said.
Speaking on the occasion, well-known author and columnist Gopal Jalan on the other hand appreciated Vaishali Kashyap's effort of penning down her real-life adventures in the Revati Valley of Uttarakhand. "Readers will find a totally new and unexplored locale on which this new novel has been set," he said.
The book release function, presided by octogenarian children writer and the author's grandmother Anita Baruah, was also addressed by Prof Suranjana Barua, Prof Sashin Borthakur and veteran broadcaster Mallika Barua among others.
