GUWAHATI: A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom of her parents' house at Bishnu Nagar in the Pathar Quarry area under the Noonmati Police Station here on Sunday.
According to police sources, the girl's body was discovered by her father when he returned home on Sunday evening after doing some errands.
The souces said that though the girl did not leave any suicide note, the parents suspect the cause of the suicide to be their refusal to allow her to go on a picnic to Hatisila near here with some friends.
The deceased was a student of Guwahati College here.
The body has been sent to the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for autopsy, the sources added.
