WASHINGTON DC: Art of Living’s World Culture Festival was organized in the iconic National Mall in Washington DC. The historic event saw the presence of an unprecedented number of people from several countries of the world. The event saw the presence of about 1 million people who stood witness to a remarkable presentation of the cultures of over 180 countries of the world as they met for what is being called the world’s biggest festival of humanity, peace and culture. This event was inspired by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the global event also awakened our senses and serenity with captivating performances.
There were several highlights of this mega performance including America the Beautiful and Vande Mataram by Grammy Award Winner Chandrika Tandon and 200 artists; Panchabhootam, a 1000-strong Indian Classical dance and classical symphony; 1000 global guitar ensemble led by Grammy Award winner Micky Free; traditional dance performances from Africa, Japan, and the Middle East; a performance by Skip Marley, who sang the iconic One Love; 10000 people Garba Dance; Bhangra Dance; Ukrainian Dance; Afghani Performance and a Global Meditation by Gurudev.
Several dignitaries also attended this event. Noteworthy among them was Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, humanitarian & peace leader, and founder of the Art of Living; S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister, India; Ban Ki-moon, 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations; Former President of India Ram Nath Kovind; Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan;
Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Hakubun Shimomura, MP, Former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Science and Technology, Japan, stated a press release.
