Bank Holidays in November 2021: Banks to Remain Closed for 17 Days, Check out the Holiday List

If you have planned to visit the bank this month you must be aware of the important holiday dates, as all the private and public sector of banks will remain close for 17 days.

NEW DELHI: During the month of November 2021, all the private and public sector banks across the country will remain close for 17 days i.e. for more than half of the days in a month.

In the Bank's running days of the week from 1 November to 8 November, the lenders will shut the doors for five days in different parts of the country. It is important to note that all these holidays are state-wise and on the above-mentioned dates only some specific branches of the bank will remain closed. All the dates will not remain constant except for some of the days. If bank branches remain closed in one state on one particular day, there will be services available in other regions of the country.

The Bank Holidays are enforced according to the mandate issued by RBI, Reserve Bank of India. The number of holidays has been decided at 11 of November as per the list by the central bank and the remaining is considered as weekend leaves including every Sunday of the month. The Banks is available to provide services on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month but holidays include the 4th and 2nd Saturdays of the month. The list of Bank holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India consists of three different categories for the celebration of festivals, state-wise celebrations, and religious holidays.

The notification for holidays by the Reserve Bank of India has been informed following three brackets that include 'Banks' Closing of Accounts', 'Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday', and 'Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act. As per the notification of holidays all the branches of Banks including the regional banks, foreign banks, public and private sector, and cooperative banks will remain closed.

During the festival of Diwali on 4 November, following the holiday list by RBI all the banks in the country will remain closed except the banks in Bengaluru. But the vacation during the weekend will be applied uniformly on the same day to all the banks of the country.
