Bharat Gaurav Special Train: Connecting Rana Pratap Nagar to Kamakhya

Indian Railways launches Bharat Gaurav Special Train, a 7-day cultural tour promoting tourism, linking Rana Pratap Nagar and Kamakhya via key heritage destinations.

GUWAHATI: In an effort to boost tourism, Indian Railways has unveiled the Bharat Gaurav Special Train. This train would offer a different experience while traveling throughout India.

kkUnder Train No. 00968, it departed from Rana Pratap Nagar on January 3, 2025, and is expected to return on January 9, 2025, after seven days of its journey. The train’s journey spans several culturally significant cities and provides an immersive experience for tourists.

The train departed from Rana Pratap Nagar on 3rd January and reached Kamakhya at 14:25 hours on 5th January, where it will halt for 2 days to allow passengers to explore key tourist destinations. It departs from Kamakhya at 17:15 hours of January 7 and arrives at Rana Pratap Nagar on January 9 at 22:15 hours.

The Bharat Gaurav Special Train would cover major destinations like Jaipur, Agra, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Patliputra, and it will have both sleeper class and 3-tier air-conditioned coaches. This falls under the Indian Government's programs "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" and "Dekho Apna Desh" as a measure to augment domestic tourism.

The train will take tourists from North Bengal and neighboring states to many of the destinations, thus making the journey an inexpensive and convenient one for visiting the rich cultural heritage of India. Tickets can be booked online on the IRCTC website.
