Sushma Swaraj vacates her official residence, Twitter applauds: 'you have set an example'

New Delhi: Setting an example for the former ministers who are always reluctant at leaving their official residences despite repeated official notices, Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has vacated her official residence. As Swaraj is not holding a ministerial position in the new cabinet formed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she considered it not apt to occupy an official residence and she did the right thing at the right time.

It has not been a month since the swearing-in of the new government and Sushma Swaraj, not holding any ministry in the new term of the BJP government, has set an example of being so punctual and disciplined.

This responsible behaviour by the former BJP minister has been widely appreciated on the internet. As Swaraj took to tweet her shift from the official residence, users have showered her with good words and praises for her gesture.

Earlier, Swaraj’s Saturday morning tweet read, “I have moved out of my official residence 8, Safdarjung Lane, New Delhi. Please note that I am not contactable on the earlier address and phone numbers.”

Some of the appreciations for the veteran BJP leader on twitter read thus:

“We will miss your charismatic presence in the Government. Best of health and luck to the most dynamic woman politician of the country.”

Another user wrote that at a time when other politicians are being pushed out of the official bungalows by taking help of the court, Swaraj is vacating the residence on her own. This is what is good manners and dedication.

However, her absence from the newly formed ministry is not consumed well by her admirers and other concerned citizens of the country. For some, her health reasons are just an excuse to stay away from the dirty politics while others say that they are missing her proficient handling of political affairs. She appears to be a competent minister to many and hence, her absence from politics is deeply saddening people.
