LUCKNOW: A seven-year-old boy was tragically killed with scissors by a suspected drug addict in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district, according to police reports on Saturday.
The victim, Afzal, had been missing since Thursday morning. His body was found in a sugarcane field near a forest in Adampur village after the accused neighbor, Shavez (19), was arrested, officials reported.
Afzal was last seen with Shavez around 10 AM on Thursday. When he failed to return home, his mother began searching for him, and later, the family filed a police report on Friday, according to a police officer.
Station House Officer (SHO) Bachchu Singh stated that the family accused Shavez of abducting their child. The accused was detained, and during questioning, he admitted to murdering the boy. The officer mentioned that the body was found in a sugarcane field, along with the scissors used in the crime.
According to the police, the accused is a drug addict. When questioned about the motive behind the murder, he reportedly claimed that he killed the boy by stabbing him with scissors "for no particular reason." The SHO added that the body has been sent for a post-mortem, and further investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, a tragic incident rocked New Year celebrations in Shillong, as a family rushed their 23-year-old son to the hospital after he was stabbed on January 1.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Deva Kharkongor, sustained critical injuries after being stabbed with a pair of scissors. He was attacked at approximately 9:38 PM near the Ghumti parking lot in Shillong’s Cantonment area and was rushed to NEIGRIHMS for treatment. The injuries included a deep stab wound on the left side of his ribs and severe damage to his right eye.
