Itanagar: Farmers in Arunachal Pradesh are set to receive Rs 22.64 crore under the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN), as announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an event in Bhagalpur, Bihar on Monday.
The announcement was part of a larger nationwide initiative, with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across the country hosting parallel events. These included exhibitions highlighting Natural Farming, Organic Farming, and GI-tagged products, showcasing sustainable agricultural practices. State Agriculture Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu attended the event virtually alongside senior officials from the department. He lauded the scheme’s impact on the agrarian economy and acknowledged the inspiring messages shared by distinguished speakers.
Launched by the Government of India, PM-KISAN is a central sector scheme aimed at providing direct financial support to land-holding farmers. Under the 19th installment, approximately Rs 22,000 crore will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers nationwide. Each eligible farmer will receive Rs 2,000, as part of the annual Rs 6,000 benefit, disbursed in three installments.
