ITANAGAR: The Gyadi Welfare Society (GWS) has denied any involvement of their member, Lezen Gaydi, in the recent shooting incident at Siddhartha Hall during the All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) elections.
The society has accused Ashok Doka’s faction of being responsible for the incident and has urged the police to take strict action against the culprits. They have also expressed concern over the safety of Lezen Gaydi, who has allegedly been threatened.
While condemning the incident that led to the injuries of 5 individuals, GWS Advisor, Rajo Gyadi, said that Lezen Gaydi, who is a member of the society has no role in the shooting incident, as claimed in a press statement issued by the Itanagar Capital SP, Rohit Rajbir Singh.
He said the clash between two groups during the election process sends a wrong message to the society, and should be condemned by everyone. Also, the police should immediately arrest those involved in the atrocious act.
The GWS also appealed to the Itanagar Capital Police to arrest the culprits involved in the thrashing one Hite Gyadi and Rajan Gyadi. The society has registered a complaint in the matter in the nearest police station.
Rajo said that Hite Gaydi, who was thrashed without any reasons sustained major injuries and is now shifted to Guwahati hospital for further treatment. Also, the society has appealed to the police department to ensure safety of ANSU Presidential candidate, Lezen Gyadi, who is being threatened openly through social media platforms.
