Arunachal: IRS, Civil Defence Training Held in Upper Siang

A two-day training on the Incident Response System and civil defence drills wrapped up in Yingkiong, Upper Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.

Itanagar: A two-day training programme on the incident response system (IRS) and civil defence security drills concluded successfully at Yingkiong in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

The initiative was held under the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in line with the national disaster management guidelines, aiming to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities in the district. The training, held from June 25 to 26, was chaired by additional deputy commissioner-cum-incident commander N Nonaang and attended by all members of the district’s incident response system team (IRST).

On Thursday, Maj Yogesh Mishra from the 103 Infantry Brigade, conducted a session on district-level civil defence drills, offering a detailed presentation on the Indian Army’s flood relief operations.

His session focused on operational strategies, inter-agency coordination, and the Army’s role in disaster response. District disaster management officer (DDMO) Anie Yangfo, presented an overview of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for wartime emergency preparedness. She emphasized the importance of coordination, resource mobilization, and community-level readiness in managing emergencies effectively.
