Arunachal: One Dead, Another Injured in Ring Well Incident at Karsingsa

A fatal accident at Tapik Colony, Karsingsa, left one young man dead and another hospitalized after both were trapped inside a ring well on Thursday afternoon, police report.

ITANAGAR: A tragic accident at Tapik Colony in Karsingsa, near here on Thursday afternoon left one young man dead and another hospitalised after they were trapped inside a ring well, according to police reports.

Naharlagun Superintendent of Police (SP) Mihin Gambo on Friday informed that Banderdewa Police Station after receiving an emergency call in the afternoon, dispatched a police team immediately to the scene to initiate a rescue operation.

The two victims were identified as Riya Tago (23), and Sosar John (23), both residents of Tapik Colony. They were found unconscious inside a ring well owned by Riya Kano.

With assistance from local residents, police carried out a rescue operation using ropes and oxygen supplies to extract the two men. They were rushed to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun for urgent treatment.

Despite medical efforts, Riya Tago was declared dead. Sosar John, however, is reported to be in stable condition, Gambo confirmed.
