ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh stands as a testament to India's democratic strength, thriving despite its geographical remoteness, cultural diversity, and unique challenges, Governor KT Parnaik said during a special session of the eighth Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA).
The session, attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, showcased the journey of progress that the state has undertaken in addressing issues like connectivity, education, healthcare, and civic participation. Governor Parnaik highlighted the commitment of the state towards inclusive development, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Viksit Arunachal" and "Viksit Bharat."
The governor expressed thanks to Vice President Dhankhar for his participation. He called him a symbol of democratic ideals and fairness in parliamentary processes. Parnaik says Dhankhar's leadership again reminds us of the great principles of justice, equity, and decorum that form the very foundation of Indian democracy.
He elaborated upon the legislative accomplishments of Arunachal Pradesh, referring to APLA as the first-ever paperless legislative assembly in the Northeast and equipped with IT-enabled systems. He brought to the attention the library of over 13,227 books available in the assembly museum where the history of the legislature is preserved in sculptures and paintings and archives, besides "Know Your Assembly" being initiated for teaching students the concepts of governance and the democratic process.
Governor Parnaik's address reflected the resilience of Arunachal Pradesh and its aspirations for holistic growth, based on justice, equity, and democratic values, in India's larger development journey.
