SEPPA: The Nyishi Elite Society (NES), East Kameng District Unit, in collaboration with the District Administration, organized a mass awareness programme on wildlife conservation at Chayangtajo. The programme aimed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting wildlife and its habitat.
Raya Flago Taniang, chairperson of the East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO), emphasized the need to avoid consuming wildlife meat and to work towards preserving the delicate ecosystem.
The event also included a legal awareness program on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Sexual Offences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the Victim Compensation Scheme, 2024.
The programme aimed to educate the public about their rights and responsibilities in preventing and combating sexual offenses. It also highlights the commitment of the local community and the district administration to protect wildlife and ensure the safety and well-being of children.
