Arunachal Pradesh: Central Delegation Meets State Chief Secretary Manish Gupta

Itanagar: A high-level delegation led by director general of northeast region under the union ministry of Information and Broadcasting K Satish Nambudiripad, called on Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Manish Gupta here on Tuesday to discuss the progress and operationalisation of the upcoming Film and Television Institute at Jote. The meeting focused on the development of the Film and Television Institute here, which would be the third such institute in the country and the first in the Northeastern region, an official communiqué informed.

The initiative marks a significant step in promoting the rich cultural heritage and creative talent of the region while contributing to the national growth of the film and television industry.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various aspects of the institute, including infrastructure, logistical and administrative support required from the state government and its potential impact on local and regional development.

The chief secretary assured full cooperation from the state government in expediting the development of the prestigious institute.

IPR secretary Nyali Ete and Papum Pare deputy commissioner Bomji Jinken, were also present on the occasion.

Later Nambudiripad also held a meeting with state director general of police (DGP) Anand Mohan, the communiqué said. Director of Kolkata-based Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) Samiran Dutta, the institute’s registrar Dr Sushrut Sharma and faculty of the upcoming institute here, Bishnu Dev Halder, accompanied Nambudiripad. The Film and Television Institute at Jote is envisioned to be a centre of excellence, offering state-of-the-art facilities and specialized programs to nurture aspiring filmmakers and media professionals.

The project is expected to bolster employment opportunities and serve as a catalyst for the socio-economic development of the region. The initiative underscores the Centre’s commitment to promote inclusive growth and empower the youth of the northeast by providing them with world-class education and training in the field of media and entertainment, the communiqué added.
