ITANAGAR: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Arunachal Pradesh recognized the outstanding efforts of 19 government officials from various districts by awarding them the “Best Electoral Practices State Award-2024.”
The awards were presented during an event held at Nirvachan Bhawan on Thursday. The recipients include 12 District Election Officers (DEOs), who also serve as Deputy Commissioners, and seven Superintendents of Police.
Each awardee received a certificate, a memento, and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, which will be utilized for Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities in their respective districts. This award acknowledges the exceptional contributions and dedication of these officials in ensuring free, fair, and credible elections in Arunachal Pradesh.
The officers were recognised for their involvement during the 2024 simultaneous election for retrieval plans, preventive policing, remote area election management, community policing, election management, rationalisation of police stations, innovative measures, voter education/electoral, arms deposition, security/Nakas, electoral literacy club, accessible elections, electoral management, and security management categories.
Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta and Director General of Police Anand Mohan attended the event as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Gupta also launched the flow of the instruction compendium and statistical handbook with respect to simultaneous elections-2024 on the day. Among others, all the state commissioners, DEO, state nodal officers, and the awardees attended the event on the day. Also, the students from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya were felicitated with certificates, trophies, and gifts for the best poster-making teams, respectively.
Chow Tee Chowpoo (PRT), Tohua Misia (TGT), and Same Mikhu, Gram Sevika were awarded a certificate, trophy, and cash prize of Rs. 10,000 in the best Booth Level Officer category. Marie Game, a SVEEP state transgender icon, was also facilitated on the day.
Earlier, the awardees also shared their experience during the conduct of the state assembly election.
