Arunachal Pradesh: First Made In India Civilian Aircraft Delivered to Alliance Air for Deployment

The 17-seater non-pressurized Dornier 228 comes with an AC cabin capable of day and night operations.

ITANAGAR: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) delivers the first civil Dornier-228 aircraft under the UDAN scheme for deployment in the State of Arunachal Pradesh by Alliance Air.

Earlier, the airline on April 7 on Twitter said, "Alliance Air takes delivery of its first Made in India Dornier 228. The 17-seater non-pressurized Dornier 228 with an AC cabin capable of day and night operations."

The HAL Do- 228 is a versatile aircraft well-suited for operations in the Northeast and has the capabilities of short take-off and landing, the ability to land and take-off from semi-prepared runways.

The light transport aircraft will facilitate regional connectivity in northeastern states. Till date, Dornier planes were being used by the armed forces only.
