Arunachal Pradesh: OIL Inaugurates New Office In Itanagar To Boost State's Energy Sector

The office was inaugurated by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Science and Technology, in the presence of OIL Director (E&D) Saloma Yomdo and other dignitaries.

ITANAGAR: The OIL has innaugurated its new office at Itanagar, with a view to intensifying the energy initiatives of Arunachal Pradesh.

The office is located in the CESHS campus in the presence of Minister for Women and Child Development, Science & Technology and Director (E&D) OIL Saloma Yomdo, Secretary Science & Technology Sumedha and other senior officers.

The event underscored the state’s potential for renewable energy projects, particularly in the realm of geothermal energy. A crucial meeting between OIL and the Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESHS) was held to discuss opportunities for developing geothermal energy, emphasizing sustainable energy solutions tailored for the region.

In addition, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) at Visakhapatnam and CESHS. This MoU hopes to bring about mutual cooperation in diverse fields, especially Earth sciences, geothermal and hydrogen energy exploration, tunneling, and mineral technology.

The establishment of the Itanagar office falls within OIL's overall plans to strengthen the energy infrastructure of Arunachal Pradesh, contributing to local economic growth and supporting the goal of increasing renewable energy production in India. The new office will play an important role in pushing forward sustainable development-oriented energy projects.
