Itanagar: In a major step towards transforming student assessment practices, a two-day state-level workshop on the Holistic Progress Card (HPC) was held on July 3rd and 4th, 2025, at SCERT, Itanagar. The workshop, part of Project VidyaSagar 3.0, aimed at building capacity for effective implementation of HPC across the foundational, preparatory, and middle stages, with a special focus on block-level execution.

Organised collaboratively by SCERT Arunachal Pradesh and PARAKH, NCERT, the workshop focused on shifting assessment from rote memorisation to concept-based and competency-based learning, as envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Sessions emphasised 360-degree student development and the crucial roles of teachers, parents, peers, and students in the learning and evaluation process.

Resource persons from PARAKH, NCERT led the technical and pedagogical sessions, guiding participants on integrating HPC into classroom practices using the curricular goals and competencies laid out in the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).

Special emphasis was placed on activity-based learning and hands-on exercises to demonstrate how child-centered and inclusive assessments can be implemented effectively at the grassroots level.
