KRA DAADI: In a move that has raised serious concerns, two police officers in Arunachal Pradesh's Kra Daadi district have been suspended following allegations of drug use. Senior officials confirmed the suspension on Friday, February 14.

The officers were captured alongside two civilians during a police operation at a meat shop in Palin, which serves as the district headquarters, on Wednesday night. During the raid, authorities seized two vials containing a suspected illegal substance weighing 2.24 grams.

Kra Daadi Superintendent of Police, Sepraj Perme, reported that the main suspect in the drug supply chain managed to escape, taking advantage of darkness and heavy rain. The department has launched a detailed investigation to get to the bottom of the case.

Meanwhile, as a part of its 'Operation Dawn 2.0' against drugs and narcotics, police on February 6 arrested a drug peddler from Banderdewa and seized 3 vials of narcotics, weighing 4.44 grams. The accused has been identified as Dipak Panika.

A team from Banderdewa police station, led by sub-inspector Sudhir Kumar Singh, arrested Panika while seizing 3 vials of narcotics, said Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo on Friday. Gambo said the accused has been booked under Section 21(a) of the NDPS Act.
