PASIGHAT: At the initiative of the Principal of East Siang Sainik School (ESSS), Commander Praveen Kumar Pola, the Government of Assam has sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 40,000 to the domicile cadets of Assam studying in the school from the academic year 2021-22.
The Principal has conveyed his gratitude to Ms Mamata Hojai, Director of Elementary Education, Government of Assam for her prompt action and appreciated the hard work of staffers of Subedar GSS Krishna and Kumar Bannu for follow-up action to get the scholarship sanctioned by the Assam government.
The ESSS Principal Pola further informed that the school has also taken up the issue with the governments of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal too to sanction annual merit scholarships to their domicile cadets, studying in ESSS. He also mentioned that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has already sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 95,535 to all APST cadets studying in ESSS from 2018-19.
