ITANAGAR: The Chairman of the Brahmaputra Board along with his officials held discussions with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Manish Gupta, the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh at Itanagar to enhance mutual cooperation in water resource management.
The Chairman of the Brahmaputra Board provided an update on the Board’s activities in Arunachal Pradesh. As per its mandate, the Board has prepared Master Plans for 18 rivers in the state and requested the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to actively contribute to advancing state-of-the-art projects in the region.
The Arunachal Government also assured full cooperation, including providing land for establishing an office for the Brahmaputra Board.
The Brahmaputra Board plays a vital role in managing water resources and mitigating flood risks in Arunachal Pradesh. It has developed Master Plans for 18 rivers in the state, focusing on river basin management, erosion control, and sustainable development.
The Board works closely with the state government to implement advanced projects, improve infrastructure, and support communities affected by changing river dynamics. With ongoing efforts to establish a local office, the Board aims to strengthen cooperation and accelerate progress on critical water management initiatives across the region.
