Lohit district administration in Arunachal distributes free rations to daily wage earners

Itanagar: Lohit district administration in Arunachal Pradesh distributed free rations to daily wage earners and migrant workers whose livelihoods have been seriously affected due to the nationwide lockdown to contain Covid-19.

Food packets containing 10 kgs of rice, 2 kgs of pulses, 1 litre of mustard oil and 1 kg of mineral salt were distributed to the workers’ families, who are not covered under the National Food Security Act, Lohit deputy commissioner Prince Dhawan informed.

The distributions were made in Daily Bazaar Line, Chai Colony, Tankyline Colony, DL Line Colony and Machuwa Camp at Tezu Khola on Sunday, the DC said adding, a total of 131 families were provided food materials so far.
