Police trusted agent in State's development, says Arunachal Home Minister Bamang Felix

Felix on Sunday exuded confidence about the State police, saying that the men in uniform will continue to shine as a trusted agent in the State's development.

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix on Sunday exuded confidence about the State police, saying that the men in uniform will continue to shine as a trusted agent in the State's development.

Attending the closing ceremony of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) Sports Meet at the 1st AAPBn sports complex near here, he said that the State police would achieve much more in its endeavour to protect, prevent and preserve.

"Today, our APP has advanced into a force which is progressive, decisive and at par with any other police force in the country in every level of functioning," he said.

While extending his greetings to the police fraternity for its 50th Raising Day which would be marked on November 8 next, Felix extended his gratitude to all the police personnel for making Arunachal an 'Island of Peace'.

Recalling the history of APP, the Home Minister expressed his gratitude to LB Sewa, who is regarded as the 'Architect of APP' and also to all those who have contributed to force's growth over the years.

Commenting on the sports meet, he said that it should be turned into an annual event and assured to pursue it with appropriate authorities.

"Such annual event will enhance the bonding, coordination and discipline among our personnel," he said.

Emphasizing the importance of sports, especially for the police, the Minister said that all those sportspersons recruited in police under sports quota should be identified and utilized to further and promote sports activities.

Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang in his deliberations lauded the police for their invaluable services and assured cooperation and services to the police whenever required.

DGP Satish Golcha also emphasised the importance of sports and said that it builds team work, cooperation and trust which is highly essential for police.

The police chief also extended his gratitude to the Home Minister for the support and cooperation to the police wherever required.

The sports meet saw an array of sporting events among police fraternity. The month-long event was organized as a run-up to commemorate the APP's 50th Raising Day.
