BORDUMSA: At times when businessmen and traders have been under the grip of fear and constant threat from various miscreant groups operating in the area, afresh incident of robbery in a retail petrol outlet at Goju Tinali in Changlang district's Bordumsa on Friday late evening has caused sensation.
According to sources at the Indian Oil retail petrol outlet engaged in customer services, a group of around 8 unidentified armed bikers on six motorcycles entered the premises of the petrol depot and opened fire in the air.
In the process, the miscreants looted the cash proceeds of the sale along with two mobile phones from the possession of salesman of the retail petrol outlet.
No person was injured nor was any property damaged as informed by the nearby villagers. Around Rs 40,000 was looted by the armed group. "We had already moved the cash proceeds of the entire day in the afternoon to a safer custody," informed an employee of the firm.
"The CC TV cameras were not functional and unlike other days there were no CRPF personnel on duty within the premises of the petrol pump," said an official at a local security agency who rushed to the robbery site immediately.
Meanwhile, the security agencies immediately swung into action and started its operation in several vulnerable locations.
The said petrol depot has been newly installed and is being run by local businessman PapuGoyal. The license has been owned by Inthem Du a local businessman of Goju village.
According to local businessmen of the Bordumsa area there was constant telephonic demands from various suspected miscreants which had been creating a sense of terror and insecurity in the minds of the people.
