ITANAGAR: Union Minister of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Chirag Paswan, assured that the central government will collaborate with the Arunachal Pradesh government to resolve any obstacles hindering the successful implementation of the Rongoge Mega Food Park.
Speaking after a review meeting of the project in Itanagar on Sunday, Paswan emphasized the importance of cooperation between the central and state governments for developmental initiatives. He pledged full central support for the food park, given the BJP's governance in the state.
Paswan highlighted the park's potential to boost the agricultural sector, create job opportunities, and provide a platform for farmers to market their products both within and outside the state. "This initiative will be the future of the state," he stated, noting its capacity to generate employment and serve as a central hub for farmers.
He explained that the mega food park aims to reduce food produce losses by adding value through various processing methods. Paswan affirmed his commitment to supporting the project through MoFPI schemes. Following a site visit to Karsingsa, Paswan expressed satisfaction with the project's concept and conveyed his hope that the park would be operational by his next visit.
"India can only develop when every state develops," he said, linking the project to Prime Minister Modi's vision of a self-sufficient and developed India by 2047. He credited the Modi government with prioritizing Northeast development, citing various projects and the creation of a dedicated department for the region.
Paswan contrasted this approach with the alleged neglect of the Northeast by previous governments, highlighting the current administration's focus on improved road connectivity in border areas and initiatives like the Vibrant Villages Programme.
