SILCHAR: With an addition of 14,563 and deletion of 1043 voters, Silchar Lok Sabha segment has now 13,03,865 voters.
The draft voter list of Cachar district comprising 7 Assembly segments was published here on Friday. Among these 7 segments, Silchar Assembly centre has maximum number of voters. Silchar which would be going to its first Corporation election this year had 2,37,051voters out of which 1,15,631 are male and 1,21,420 are female. The total number of voters in Sonai is 1,87,053 with 93,328 male and 93,725 female. In Dholai, total voters is 1,94 570 with 98,855 male and 95,715 female voters. Udharbond has 1,67 808 voters with 83, 624 male and 84,184. In Lakhipur, out of 1 70,705 voters, 86,107 are mail and 84,598 female. In Barkhola, total voter is 1,53,968, out of which 77,244 male and 76, 724 female. With 98, 222 male and 9,44,88 female voters Katigorah now has 1,92, 710 voters. As a whole, Silchar Lok Sabha segment has 6,53,011 male and 6,50,854 female voters.
The number of new voters in the age group of 18-19 is 24, 107 with 10,619 female and 13,488 male. Number of voters with 80 plus age is 13,996 out of which 7,615 are female and 6381 male. Silchar has maximum number of voters in the age group of 20-29 years The number is 3,69,362 followed by 30-39 age group with 3,09,756 voters. Interestingly, only 43,831 voters fall in the age group of 70-79.
