HAFLONG: Security arrangements in Dima Hasao district have been significantly stepped up ahead of the April 9 assembly election, with the administration deploying 14 companies of security personnel across the district to ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling.
All 14 companies have already arrived in Haflong and have been strategically positioned across sensitive and vulnerable areas identified by the district administration.
The security presence has been intensified not just in urban pockets but also in remote and harder-to-reach locations across Dima Hasao — a hilly district that has historically posed logistical challenges for election management.
The deployment is aimed at instilling confidence among voters, particularly in areas where access and security have been concerns in past elections.
