GUWAHATI: As part of the Pipping Ceremony, 17 officers from the Assam Police Service were formally granted commissions into the Indian Police Service today at Assam Police Institution at Ulubari.
Prominent persons present at the occasion include G P Singh IPS, Assam Police Director General of Police (DGP) Assam, Harmeet Singh IPS Special DGP (HQ), MP Gupta Additional DGP CID (IPS), Hiren Nath, IPS Retd. Special ADGP (SB), Diganta Borah IPS IG of Police (SB), Lachit Baruah IPS Managing Director APHC, and Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati. The promoted officers along with their family members were also in attendance with the other senior officers.
Officers who have been promoted into the Indian Police Service include Jayshree Khersa, David Neitham, Mugdhajyo, Dev Mahanta, Bedanta Madhab Rajkhowa, Gautam Borah, Ranjan Bhuyan, Pranabjyo Goswami, Amrit Bhuyan, Sudhakar Singh, Rajen Singh, Subodh Kumar Sonowal, Musleh Uddin Ahmed, Mihirjit Gayan, Harekrishna Nath, Manabendra Dev Ray, Longnit Terang, and Prasanta Saikia.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Government honored the Assam Police during the 54th Statehood Day celebrations held at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles Ground in Imphal. The recognition highlighted the strong collaboration between the two states' police forces in ensuring regional security and coordination.
Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh shared the news on Twitter, expressing gratitude for the acknowledgment. “An absolute pleasure and privilege. Congratulations to the Team T&AP of Assam Police,” he tweeted, emphasizing the enhanced coordination among North East police agencies under the supervision of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
