NAGAON: The 18th Assam Yoga Mahotsav 2024 will be held from December 12 to January 12, 2025, in various districts of Assam.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on December 12, at the Jogal Kishore Kedia Bhavan in Hojai district.
Pijush Hazarika, Minister of Water Resources, Parliamentary Affairs, Information and Public Relations, Printing, and Social Justice, will attend the event as the chief guest while Subhashish Kor, yogacharya and founder president of Bharatiya Yoga Sanskritik and Yoga Chikitsa Kendra, Guwahati, will share the event.
The event will also honour 17 distinguished individuals from various districts of Assam for their outstanding contributions to yoga. Additionally, various social programmes will be organized in different districts of Assam during the month-long celebration, culminating in a closing ceremony on January 12, 2025, at the Yog Tirtha Pratishthan in Guwahati Maligaon.
The organizers have sought the cooperation and participation of all in making the 18th Assam Yoga Mahotsav 2024 a grand success. The Swami Shivananda Saraswati Yoga Inspiration Award will be conferred upon Swami Bhaveshananda Maharaj, Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram.
