GAURISAGAR: The 31st Foundation Day of Jhanji Jamuguri Chandradhar Gogoi Sankardev Shishu Niketan was held at the school auditorium. It is to be noted that the school was dedicated to the name of Chandradhar Gogoi, a prominent social worker of Jhanji Jamuguri Balamia Village, whose family donated the land for the school building 30 years ago.
The school has gained popularity with a 100% pass rate in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination every year and has become a comprehensive educational institution. On the occasion of its foundation day, a public meeting was held which Jyoti Prasad Gogoi, retired professor of Jhanji Hemnath Sharma College, chaired and Kamakhya Bhattacharya, Principal of Khanamukh Higher Secondary School and Dr Ranjit Kumar Barua, Principal of Dikhowmukh College, took part as distinguished guests. Pabitra Gogoi, Rajani Borgohain, Gopal Baruah, Bina Baruah, retired vice-principal of Jhanji HS School, and noted social worker Lakhimi Baruah also took part as invited guests.
