LAKHIMPUR: The Chief Secretary of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), Jadab Sarmah visited Narayanpur of Lakhimpur district on Thursday in order to take stock of the preparations initiated to hold the 67th Biennial Session (Purnanga Dwibarsik Adhibeshan) of the literary organization.
The 67th biennial session of the Axam Xahitya Xabha, which acclaims the glory as the world's largest literary organization, will be held at Narayanpur under the auspices of Narayanpur Sakha Xahitya Xabha in the upcoming year. Though the session is to be held on the designated days on January 31, February 1, February 2, February 3 and February 4, 2022, as per the Constitution of the organization, the COVID-19 pandemic induced adverse situation and other allied problems have been standing as obstacles with regard to initiating due preparations for holding the same on the stipulated days.
At such backdrop, there is a strong possibility of postponing the mega-event on the constitutionally-fixed dates. However, it is known that the full-fledged executive committee meeting of the AXX, to be held in the first week of November, will take the decision regarding the fixation of the date for the event.
Arriving at Narayanpur, Chief Secretary Jadab Sarmah took part in a crucial meeting organized at Narayanpur Sakha Xahitya Xabha Bhavan. The meeting commenced with Satyajit Dutta in the chair. Narayanpur Sakha Xahitya Xabha Secretary Upen Hazarika explained the objective of the meeting wherein 67th Biennial Session Organizing Committee President Iswar Sarmah Bhorali, dignitaries Robin Goswami, Prabin Kumar Saikia, Krishna Madhav Saikia and others office bearers were present. Arunachal Pradesh Kameng District Xahitya Xabha President Jugal Borah also attended the meeting.
In the event, Jadab Sarmah presented various suggestions regarding smooth conduction of the mega-event. "The Axam Xahitya Xabha will extend all kinds of co-operation to the organizing committee with regard to holding the 67th Biennial Session of the organization successfully," the chief secretary said in the meeting. He also appealed the people of Lakhimpur district as well as of the State to extend their co-operation in this regard.
