NAGAON: The 8th Assam Bn NCC under the Army wings of Tezpur group organised a mega blood donation camp for the ‘World Blood Donor Day’ at Nowgong College Swahid Anil Bora Auditorium.
NCC cadets from senior division and senior wings of ADP College, Nowgong College, Nowgong Girls College, Dr BKB College, Raha College, Kampur College, GNDG Commerce College NCC units donated blood implementing the slogan “Save life, give blood” attitude.
In the programme, Commanding Officer of 8th Assam Bn NCC, Nagaon, Col Amar Sing, Sena Medal, Adm officer Lt Col. Sukhdev Sing, Dr Mridul Kr Hazarika, Principal incharge of ADP College, Dr Ranjit Majinder of Nowgong College, Dr Lakhidhar Das, Superintendent of Health Department, Nagaon, Lt. Ganashyam Taid, senior medical officer Dr Chandan Sarma etc along with convenor of the programme Major Bhupal Kalita, Lt Dr Jalin Chetia and Medical staff of Nagaon Health Department were present.
The programme started with lighting of a ceremonial lamp by the invited guest and distinguished individuals. During the programme, cultural events like Bagarumba and Tiwa folk-dance were also performed by the cadets of the colleges of Nagaon town before the gatherings.
