ABSU hails move to upgrade 25 Bodo medium schools as model schools

The All Bodo Students Union hailed the decision of the government of Assam to upgrade 25 Bodo medium schools as model schools in line with tea garden model schools.

KOKRAJHAR: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) on Friday hailed the decision of the government of Assam to upgrade 25 Bodo medium schools as model schools in line with tea garden model schools.

The president of ABSU Dipen Boro said, “We are pleased to get the news that 25 schools have officially been decided to be as Bodo Medium Model Schools, in the line of Tea Garden Model Schools, by the Education Minister, Dr. Ranoj Pegu. This marks a significant milestone in response to the proposal by the All-Bodo Students Union and the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) to establish 35 new Bodo Medium Model Schools.”

Boro extended his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for this commendable initiative. He said this decision will greatly benefit Bodo students and further strengthen the Bodo medium educational foundation, fulfilling a long-standing demand spanning over a decade. He also said they were eagerly looking forward for the establishment of the remaining proposed schools in near future.
