JORHAT: Alliance Air has announced the resumption of flight operations in the Jorhat-Pasighat and Jorhat-Tezu route, which will significantly enhance inter-state connectivity in the northeastern region.
The airline will resume its services on the Jorhat-Pasighat route on March 30, 2025, providing a vital link between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Furthermore, the resumption of flights on the Jorhat-Tezu route will boost connectivity between Assam and Arunachal.
Earlier in December last year, domestic carrier Alliance Air started direct flight operations from Guwahati to Arunachal Pradesh's Ziro. An 18-seater Alliance Air flight took off from Guwahati at 12.55 hours and landed in Ziro at 14:00 hours on December 4.
Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Vivek HP, additional deputy commissioner Heemani Mena, and administrative officers Flight Lieutenant Anand R Nair were present to witness the maiden landing of the flight.
Interacting with the pilot, the DC said that he received many queries regarding the flight from government officials and the general public. He said the general public has received the news of the start of direct flights from Guwahati to Ziro with great enthusiasm.
The introduction of these direct flights is expected to increase tourism in Ziro, which is popular for its MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourist potential.
