JAMUGURIHAT: In a vibrant ceremony held at the newly constructed premises, Alok Kalabithika, a school of fine arts under the aegis of Alok, a leading socio-cultural, literary, and dramatic organization of greater Nagsankar, was formally inaugurated by Naduar MLA Padma Hazarika on Friday. The inaugural function took place in the school’s conference hall amidst a gathering of artists, community leaders, and cultural enthusiasts.

The event began on a spiritual and traditional note with the soulful rendition of a Borgeet by Itali Kalita. Principal of Alok Kalabithika, Putul Bora, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the cultural celebration that marked the school’s formal opening at its permanent location.

In his inaugural speech, MLA Padma Hazarika emphasized the role of creative and artistic endeavours in fostering societal peace and harmony. He commended Alok’s efforts in nurturing local talent and promoting cultural values through its school of fine arts, which was originally established in 2010 and operated from Nagsankar HS before relocating to its new facility.

The occasion also witnessed the formal inauguration of a newly introduced Yoga Centre within the school premises, further expanding the scope of Alok Kalabithika’s offerings in holistic and creative education.
