Assam: 13,080 beneficiaries of PMA-Y receives sanction letters in Morigaon district

A total of 13,080 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMA-Y) under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department received houses in Morigaon district.

Morigaon: A total of 13,080 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMA-Y) under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department received houses in Morigaon district today. Accordingly 3,454 beneficiaries in Morigaon assembly constituency 6,873 beneficiaries in Lahrighat and 2,753 beneficiaries in Jagiroad constituency have been issued sanction letters. The 10 beneficiaries were officially handed over housing approval letters in each constituency today. The scheme was launched by the Minister of Water Resources, Information and Public Relations, Social Justice and Empowerment, Pijush Hazarika at a function held at Jagibhakatgaon Bishnurabha Bihutali Manch to distribute sanction letters to the beneficiaries under Jagiroad constituency.

Speaking at the function, the Minister said that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have given remarkable gifts to Jagiroad constituency. He said the government has almost succeeded in freeing not only Jagiroad but the entire Morigaon district from flood.

 There are many roads, bridges, etc. in the Jagiroad constituency and a medical college is being established. He said educational institutions for higher education will also be built in the district in the near future. The event was attended by Tiwa Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Jeevan Chandra Konwar, Jagiroad Co-District Commissioner Biman Das and Zonal Development Officer Juri Shaikia among other dignitaries.

The local MLA Ramakant Deuri handed over the sanction letters of houses received under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin at a function held at Tarun Ram Fukan ground in Morigaon constituency. Speaking at the function, the MLA said the present government is committed to provide government facilities to every deserving person. He said the government has always emphasized on ensuring that the deserving are not deprived in any way from corruption-free access to government jobs to access to government schemes. The event was attended by Morigaon Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Sanjeev Kumar Bora, Additional District Commissioners Anusua Sharma, Dr. Sangita Barthakur and Sulakshana Barpathragohain and social worker Prabin Medhi.
