HAFLONG: At a ceremony held today at Krishi Bhawan at Haflong in Assam's Dima Hasao district, the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech announcing the funds' distribution was televised live throughout the event, which was attended by farmers and officials.
The PM-KISAN program provided Rs. 6,000 to 20,685 qualified farmers in the area every year, which was paid out in three installments of Rs. 2,000 each. Every four months, the beneficiaries' bank accounts get a direct transfer of funds to meet their agricultural requirements.
The Department of Agriculture and other allied sectors organised a one-day Kisan Mela at Krishi Bhawan in Haflong as part of the event. District Commissioner Simanta Kr Das, ACS, was the program's chief guest.
Amritlal Narzary, DAO; Rasmita Saikia, KVK Scientist; Amarjit Mangang, Assistant General Manager, NABARD; and Partha Sarathi Jahari, ACS, the in-charge principal secretary of DHAC, were also in attendance.
Simanta Kr Das, ACS, delivered an excellent address on the occasion, praising and congratulating each and every recipient while highlighting the importance of the PM-KISAN program and how it impacts farmers' lives.
He underlined an essential aspect of agricultural development by stressing the value of marketing and training for farmers, particularly in rural areas.
Additionally, he made certain that farmers must be properly informed about government programs, facilities, and the paperwork required for their success.
