Guwahati: In a shocking incident, three minor boys were reportedly rescued from a tree in a dense forest located in the Dhemaji district of Assam.
A wild elephant forced the minors to spend the entire night atop a tree in the forest.
According to reports, the incident unravelled when the trio went to the forest to find their domesticated animals. A wild elephant suddenly appeared and confronted them in the jungle.
They were terrified after seeing the giant elephant so much so that the trio immediately fled from the spot and took shelter atop a tree.
Much to their despair, the elephant stood right below the minor boys, as a result of which, the trio was compelled to spend the entire night on top of the tree.
Earlier, a youth was critically injured after a wild elephant attacked him at Amching on the evening of July 23.
The unidentified youth was rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) with the help of local residents, where he underwent treatment.
Some local people had captured the incident on their mobile phones and the video had gone viral on social media.
Diganta Kumar Choudhury, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) of Guwahati, confirmed the incident and said that the Forest personnel informed the local police in this regard.
