JAMUGURIHAT: Like previous years, the 38th foundation day of Alok, one of the primer socio-cultural, literary, dramatic, and educational organizations of the greater Nagsankar area here was observed with a day-long programme today.
The programme began with hoisting of the institutional flag by Narayan Hazarika, President of Alok. It was followed by an art competition held at the historic Nagsankar Temple premises. The art competition was held in three categories. A total of 75 students from nearby educational institutions participated in the event. Prakash Bora graced the competition as a judge. Dulu Gogoi, a retired headmaster and an eminent artiste attended the competition as an observer.
The prize distribution ceremony was held in the Nagsankar temple premises with Narayan Hazarika in the chair. Kabyam Ojha won the first prize, Hemanga Daimari, won the second, and Rajdeep Bhuyan won the third prize respectively in category A. Similarly, Darshita Priyam, Smita Hazarika and Swikriti Sarma won the first, second, and the third prizes respectively in category B. On the other hand Rinjuri Gogoi, Priyam Nath, and Mihir Jyoti Saikia won the first, second, and the third prize respectively in category C. The prize distribution ceremony was addressed by Prakash Bora, Dulu Gogoi, and Putul Bora. It was attended by Padmeshwar Saikia, Atul Bhuyan, Pinku Gayan, Paresh Saikia, Bikash Barthakur, Mridul Bora, Prakash Gohain, Raju Bhuyan, and Ratul Saikia among others. All the proceedings of the entire programme were conducted by Jitu Bora, Secretary of Alok.
