Assam: 45th Foundation Day of NIPM held at Dibrugarh University

The 45th Foundation Day of the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University.

DIBRUGARH: The 45th Foundation Day of the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) was celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing together industry leaders, HR professionals, academicians and students at Centre for Management Studies, Dibrugarh University.

The event, organized by the NIPM Assam Chapter, focused on the theme “Navigating HR Towards Business Sustainability.”

 The event saw the participation of representatives from leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) such as Oil India Limited (OIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL), and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL).

Students and faculty members from Dibrugarh University and the Centre for Management Studies (CMS) also attended the event, enriching the discussions with their academic perspectives.

 Eminent speakers for the event included Dr. Shyamal Baruah, CGM, OIL, Samit Mohapatra, GM-HR, BVFCL and Asit Das, GM-HR, BCPL. Students of CMS have also given a presentation  on the theme. Their insightful addresses highlighted the evolving role of HR in driving sustainable business practices, employee engagement and workforce resilience in an ever-changing corporate landscape.

 The programme was graced by Dr. Pranjal Bezborah, Chairman, NIPM Assam Chapter, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the HR domain.

 Representatives from all major PSUs in the region, along with HR professionals and students, actively participated in the discussions, making the event a resounding success.

 Dr. Pratim Baruah, Chairperson, CMS, Dibrugarh University graced the occasion as chief guest and shared his views.The NIPM Foundation Day celebration served as a platform for industry-academia collaboration, reinforcing the need for HR leaders to align business strategies with sustainability goals.

The event concluded on a high note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to fostering an HR-driven approach to business sustainability.

 A new committee of NIPM – Assam Chapter has also been constituted who would be taking care of the activities of NIPM Assam Chapter for next two years.
