KOKRAJHAR: The 4th Kokrajhar Literary Festival will start on February 1 at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar, Assam. Over three days, the festival will bring together writers, intellectuals, and literary fans from around the world, all united by a common goal to strengthen cultural connections and promote peace through literature.
With the theme of unity and diversity, the event will feature nine international guests, 60 national participants, and more than 100 local attendees, providing a platform for global literary exchange. The festival will include panel discussions, poetry readings, and live podcast sessions, offering a lively experience for everyone involved.
It will also focus on the Bodo community’s cultural heritage, with special events and performances celebrating their traditions. Nagaland Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer will give the keynote address, adding importance to the event and setting the tone for thoughtful discussions.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu inaugurated the three-day Pangsau Pass International Festival (PPIF) at Nampong in Changlang district on Monday. The festival was last held in 2020. It was suspended in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had remained inactive since then. This year, after a four-year hiatus, the festival was celebrated from January 20 to 22.
This year’s festival featured cultural troupes from 26 diverse tribal communities and three from Myanmar, creating a captivating showcase of unity and cultural richness. The chief minister explored exhibition stalls featuring diverse food, textiles, art, crafts, traditional artifacts, and cultural displays at the festival. He said the state government would curate and restore all remnants of World War II at Nampong.
