KHERONI: Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), 7-Kopili constituency, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Pawan Kumar on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the upcoming ‘BJP Mass Joining Programme’ scheduled for May 9 at Phelangpi. The event is set to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) grassroots presence ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The programme will be graced by DrTuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, as the chief guest, alongside Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Executive Members, MACs, KAAC, and other prominent leaders from Karbi Anglong.
MAC Pawan Kumar was accompanied by key BJP functionaries during the review, including Baburam Rongphar, Chairman of Kopili VDC, Dhonsing Dera, Vice-President of BJP WKADC, Bidya Sing Tisso, BJP leader, Dhrupdev Chauhan, Mandal President of Kopili Mandal, Ramesh Chauhan, Secretary of Kopili Mandal, and other senior members of the BJP Kopili Mandal Committee.
The mass joining programme aims to boost the morale of grassroots workers and create a favourable wave for the BJP. According to reliable sources, workers from the All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC) and Congress are expected to join the BJP during the event, signalling a significant shift in political allegiance in the region.
