Assam Assembly Budget Session To Begin In Kokrajhar On February 17

The budget session of the Assam Assembly will begin on February 17 and continue until March 25. The first day of the session will be held in Kokrajhar, making it a historic event.

KOKRAJHAR: The budget session of the Assam Assembly will begin on February 17 and continue until March 25. The first day of the session will be held in Kokrajhar, making it a historic event. This is the first time an assembly session will take place in the Bodoland Territorial Region. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will deliver the opening speech to mark the start of the session.

After the first session, there will be a one-day break. The proceedings will continue on February 19 at the Assam Assembly complex in Dispur. On March 10, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog will present the state budget for the 2025-26 financial year. The session will also include the introduction of several bills, reports, and resolutions.

As per reports, the budget session will have 14 working days. March 11 and 12 are meant for the general discussion on the budget.

The first day of the Assam Assembly session will be held in Kokrajhar, and the remaining days will be at Dispur. The budget session will start with the Governor’s speech on February 17.
