Assam: BGR celebrates Bihu with senior citizens at old age home in Chirang district

Bongaigaon Refinery located in Chirang district celebrates the vibrant Bihu festival in a unique way with the senior citizens of the Abhayapuri Old Age Home in Bongaigaon.

KOKRAJHAR: Bongaigaon Refinery (BGR) located at Dhaligaon in Chirang district demonstrated its commitment to community engagement and cultural heritage by celebrating the vibrant Bihu festival in a unique way with the senior citizens of the Abhayapuri Old Age Home in Bongaigaon.

Sources from BGR said that on April 14, Nayan Kumar Barua, Executive Director & Refinery Head of Bongaigaon Refinery, personally visited the old age home in Abhayapuri. He extended warm Bihu wishes to all the elderly inmates and presented them with thoughtful gifts and traditional Bihu snacks, bringing joy and festive cheer to their day. This initiative underscores Bongaigaon Refinery’s dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and celebrating the rich cultural traditions of Assam with all sections of society, including the elderly. The visit provided an opportunity for interaction and sharing, strengthening the bond between the refinery and the local community.

 Nayan Kumar Barua expressed his happiness in celebrating Bihu with the senior citizens, stating, “It is our privilege to share the joy of Bihu with the respected elders of Abhayapuri Old Age Home. Their blessings and smiles are invaluable, and Bongaigaon Refinery is committed to supporting and engaging with all members of our community.” The residents and staff of the Abhayapuri Old Age Home warmly welcomed the Bongaigaon Refinery team and expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, which brought much happiness during the Bihu festivities.
